Erica & Bretts Wedding {St. Helena}..

 “Now at last… they were beginning Chapter One of the Great Story no one on earth has ever read, which goes on forever: in which every chapter is better than the one before”

-C.S. Lewis

A truly, truly beautiful wine country wedding, that was kissed with sunshine, & woven with love. Erica + Brett, thank you to the moon and back… for letting me live this day with you both. XO

Travis & Courtneys Wedding…

I have so many weddings from last year that I have still yet to blog *sigh*…so bear with me as I catch up!! I simply had to share Travis and Courtneys gorrrrrrrgeooouuuussss fall wedding, because it is just the greatest reminder of why fall is so magical. These two got married at Casa Real at Ruby Hill Winery in Pleasanton..which is very fitting, because those of you who know these cuties….know how much they LOVE their wine:) I love reading their personal blog “Its the Yeagers”…their slogan is “A day in the life of two people who love to laugh, play, and drink good wine”. That pretty much sums them up:)

C+T were college sweethearts, are avid adventurers, and are two of the most loving people God created. True Story. I fell in love with their wittiness and spark for each other upon meeting them for the first time at their engagement session:) They are what I like to call “vacation friends”….the type of people that are just so easy going…that within moments of meeting them….you can visualize spending vacation with them. The kind of folks you just wanna plop down and play a good ol’ board game with:) We have quite a few mutual friends that led us to working together, and I am so grateful for those connections, and the people in our lives that refer us, because that is how we get to do what we love, and how these insanely sweet couples keep knockin on our doors! Enjoy! XO

Tony & Lauras Wedding…

Tony & Lauras wedding was nestled in the Los Gatos hills at Testorossa Winery…the perfect little corner of the world for their gorgeous bohemian nuptials! It was one of the most beautiful fall weddings ever..and I literally could have posted an entire blog of just their flowers, because they were to die for!!! {Yay Flower Divas!}. I met Laura several years ago when I was shooting a wedding up in the mountains for one of her friends….she ran up to me when I was doing detail shots before the ceremony, and asked for a business card, and said that someday, when it was her turn…that maybe we could work together:) So fun seeing it all come full circle, and to meet the man who stole her heart…who continually gives her reason to share her infectious smile and giddy spirit. These two are like little kids when they are together..there is so much sweetness and laughter. I loved meeting Tony’s daughter Jenna at their engagement session…and seeing the 3 of them become a family on this dreamy day. There is truly nothing greater in this world than that:)XO

Hi Ashley,

Love your pictures. I am planning a August 2015 wedding and was wondering if I can get more information about pricing and packages. Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day.

Tori & Justin {Engaged}!!

What a better day than VALENTINES…to share this uber sweet engagement shoot! This session was very near and dear to me for many reasons:) I have known Justins family since I was little. They were like that second family that always welcomed me as another daughter:) Yes-they even still call me “D.I.L.A”-daugher in law Ashley..I love it!:) Our families grew up in church together, so most of my jr. high and high school memories took place at their house…small groups…..hanging out with his older sister Amber, (while we planned our joint weddings to Leonardo DiCaprio)………coloring our faces and arms in highlighter marker and dancing around his brothers black light room to ska music… name it, we did it:) We spent many summers going on family cruises and adventures together……I vividly remember when Justin was just a wee little boy….sitting at the table one night on our family cruise to Ensanada/Catalina…..and somehow all of us older kids convinced him to eat escargot…he had no idea they were snails..and we just sat there and laughed at how preciously gullible he was. Fast forward all these years later…he is oh-so grown up…and quite the gentleman:) I just wanted to hug him the whole session because I see so much of his whole family in him. In his laugh, in his smile… Tori seriously scored with marrying into an amazing family:)

There was so much hype leading up to this day, and getting to meet Tori. I was seriously….SOO excited..and kind of nervous..haha. She has been following our blog for years…and even reached out to me when she was still in high school and getting into photography herself. She said that one day she wanted me to photograph her wedding:) There is truly no greater compliment than that..when someone tells you that before they are even anywhere near planning a wedding:) So getting to be part of all of this, 3 years later…is just as much a dream for me as it is for her:) Tori and Justin went to the same church and high school…but their paths didn’t cross until a few years ago when they were both helping Justins brother move into a new apartment:) She must have had him at hello, because he sent her a friend request on FB that very night..and before they knew it…a few messages later..their little love story together had begun. They are getting married this summer in Tori’s backyard. Their ceremony with be taking place in the same place that Justin told her he loved her for the first time and where he asked her to marry him.  I know, I know. Darling. XO

Tori and Justin LOVE we spent the first part of the session doing just that..and yes, I even ate some of their pizza {score}. Loved every minute of my time with them..and I’m SO glad I could share this on Valentines day! To everyone out there, whoever you are..I hope today has been more than just hearts and flowers, but that you felt loved and adored by whoever it is that you share  your life with…..spouse, friends, kids, boyfriend,  girlfriend, your cats… or yes…even Ben and Jerry’s. XO

These are incredible, Ashley. You’ve not only been blessed with an amazing eye and talent, but with beautiful clients as well. Each one of them look as though they have been modeling for years. Keep up the great work, and cannot wait to see more! God bless!

At Home with the Coburns {Featuring Scout!!}

One of the greatest things we have experienced over the last few years in our move to Sacramento…has been the amazzzzzzing people that we have made relationships with. Through church, our kids schools, neighbors, coffee name it. These are the people who have made living here really feel like home, and who have become part of our everyday “community”. Last year our son Hayden befriended a silly and exuberant little boy in his preschool class named “Miles”…before long Hayden was asking for playdates with him….asking, asking, asking….like evvvvvveryday. So, it was time to “meet the parents”.  Soon after…. we met Tim and Vanessa, and their other son Moses..a.k.a “Mo”..and it was an instant connection. Tim and Vanessa had just started their own church in downtown Sac called “Society”…which was such a small world because we had JUST gotten a flier on our porch about it only days before. {Yay for marketing!} Find out more info about their church {here}…Although we already had a home church, we have been able to attend Society here and there…but my favorite thing, has been being part of the women’s bible study group at Society which meets mid-week. Through this, I have been so blessed to get to know Vanessa on a deeper level, as well as connect with other remarkable ladies in my town, that I otherwise, would have never met. Vanessa is one of the most incredible people I have ever known. There is just something so refreshing about her. Its no show..she is just, the real deal:) For those of you who know her…you know exactly what I mean:) She is so authentic…witty, hilarious, loving, but most of all, encouraging. I have been so blessed that our boys attended the same preschool, and now are at the same elementary school..because that makes our lives very parallel in so many ways these days:) What a joy to watch her welcome yet another little boy into the Coburn family! {Yay Boys Club!}. I had the opportunity to come into their home and do a little mini session with them, and their adorable newbie “Scout”. I do most of my sessions outdoors, at various locations..but I loved the simplicity of doing this at their the rooms they spend most of their days in. Coburn fam..we love you guys so much…and are so excited for this new little man in your lives….another HUGE congrats to just celebrating your one year anniversary for Society Church!

I think this next picture is one of my faves of all time…kinda just sums up fatherhood:)I love that both of the boys have the same crazy group of stray hair that sticks out in back (lower right) I started to retouch them out, but then fell in love with the imperfection of it:)Baby Scout had been sleeping the whole session, but this was my favorite pic when he started to wake up. The window light was too bright…so he just showed eye, just to let me know he was awake:)The boys called this Scouts “manger”.
